The children were unaware of our presence there, we didn't intrude in any way, and it was lovely to watch them playing in the garden with their parents and the nursing staff.

At that time my elderly Mum had become my 'baby'.

My father suffered serious, disabling health problems soon after I was born and later Mum also developed her own health issues.

During her last decade she needed 15-20 hrs of oxygen a day and almost 24/7 care.

I felt ready to take 2nd Degree Reiki Attunement in February 2007, after Mum passed away in 2004.

I took 2nd Degree with a different Reiki Master at a different venue.

This time it was in an old church hall out in the countryside near stables where we could hear the horses chatting to each other.

I also decided to take Reiki Attunement for Horses and Small Animals

I figured that horses and small animals don't have a vested interest in either proving that Reiki works or in pleasing the therapist.

It's easy to give a Reiki treatment to a human being and for them to tell you how much better they feel afterwards. A therapist has to be aware that a client may not want to disappoint her. This is why the therapist has to be detached from the outcome.

Well, my 2nd Degree Attunement was also a lovely experience. The Master took some photos while we were all sat there with our hands joined during the attunement and when we looked afterwards, there was a large orb hovering just in front of me.

When it came to the horses - well have you ever had a horse fall asleep on you?

No, I hadn't ever experienced it either, until that day.

I began treating a mare who was quite a spirited horse. I didn't think about anything, I just lay my hands on her where I felt they should go and kept them there for a while.

When she'd had enough she briskly moved a step away from me and then nudged me with her nose towards the older male horse across the way.

I didn't get the message first time, so she nudged me again and moved her head in his direction so it was clear where I was to go next.

I moved towards Rusty and he turned his head towards me

and I instantly felt pain in my forehead.

I placed my right hand on the side of his neck and my left hand gently on his forehead. Some horses don't like their head being touched, but he accepted it without a problem.

Hmmm ... I don't know why, but I felt

I needed a third point of contact with the horse,

so I placed my forehead against his neck.

About 2 minutes after I did that, he shifted his back leg so that he was sort of resting on it, his lips quivered, he dribbled, closed his eyes and fell fast asleep!

So there I was, standing in a paddock, stuck to the side of a horse like a fridge magnet stuck to a fridge.

And a sleeping horse at that !

The mare whinnied behind me as if to say "Ah! You've sorted it!"

I thought Rusty might wake up, but noooooooo ...

he snoozed on.

I was aware of the energy circulating through the cosmos, through me, through the horse, down to the earth through our feet.

Together we formed a circuit.

Eventually he began to wake up, he shuffled his feet, smacked his lips, blinked his eyes and turned his head and murmured a thank you in horse language.

The pain in my forehead was no longer there and Rusty looked and felt much brighter and was standing more firmly than before.

I thanked him and the Universe for creating that circuit of energy and he went over to his hay and chomped away at it.

Since I did my 1st attunement I had been searching everywhere for a crystal merhaba, but I had never found one.

At the end of our attunements the Reiki Master brought in some crystals for us to choose.

I was busy making the tea and refreshments at the time so I couldn't really see what she was displaying.

By the time I got to the table most of the crystals had been chosen by the rest of the group and the Reiki Master was holding something up and I heard her saying "So - nobody wants this one then? Strange, I thought this would be snapped up straight away." I went over to see what it was that she had that was obviously left over for me, and I almost yelled at the top of my voice -

"That's mine!"

She said, "Oh wow! I didn't realise you hadn't chosen one yet, sorry."

But I said "Noooooo, don't be sorry. I wanted a Merhaba, I couldn't find one for 7 years until I did Reiki II, and here it is! It's just appeared at this time."

Merkaba

Merkaba, also spelled Merkabah, is the divine light vehicle allegedly used by ascended masters to connect with and reach those in tune with the higher realms. "Mer" means Light. "Ka" means Spirit. "Ba" means Body. Mer-Ka-Ba means the spirit/body surrounded by counter-rotating fields of light, (wheels within wheels), spirals of energy as in DNA, which transports spirit/body from one dimension to another.

Star Tetrahedron

In modern esoteric teachings, it is taught that the MerKaBa is an interdimensional vehicle consisting of two equally sized, interlocked tetrahedra of light with a common center, where one tetrahedron points up and the other down. This point symmetric form is called a stella octangula or stellated octahedron which can also be obtained by extending the faces of a regular octahedron until they intersect again.

In his books, researcher and physicist Drunvalo Melchizedek describes this figure as a "Star Tetrahedron", since it can be viewed as a three dimensional Star of David. By imagining two superimposed "Star Tetrahedrons" as counterrotating, along with specific "prana" breathing techniques, certain eye movements and mudras, it is taught that one can activate a non-visible 'saucer' shaped energy field around the human body that is anchored at the base of the spine.

Depending on the height of the person doing the exercise, this field is about 55 feet across. Once activated, this 'saucer' shaped field is capable of carrying ones consciousness directly to higher dimensions.

Flower of Life

The Flower of Life is a geometrical figure composed of multiple evenly-spaced, overlapping circles, that are arranged so that they form a flower-like pattern with a six-fold symmetry like a hexagon. In other words, the center of each circle is on the circumference of six surrounding circles of the same diameter. The Temple of Osiris at Abydos, Egypt contains the oldest to date example. it is carved in granite and may possibly represent the Eye of Ra a symbol of the authority of the pharaoh.

Other examples can be found in Phoenician, Assyrian, Indian, Asian, Middle Eastern, and medieval art. A Flower of Life pattern can be constructed with a pen, compass and paper, by creating multiple series of interlinking circles. In some renditions, the rosette on the unofficial flag of Padania is a partial version of the "flower of life" pattern. The Flower of Life pattern contains the basis of Metatron's Cube. From this pattern, all five of the Platonic solids can be derived.
